Personalization & The Quiz

How does Mxt personalize my routine?
Mxt's diagnostic quiz takes about 5 minutes and asks about your skin, your concerns, your environment, and your goals. From your answers, our system matches you to a routine drawn from a formulary of 200+ clinically validated actives — at clinical doses.
How is this different from a regular skincare quiz?
Most skincare quizzes route everyone into one of three or four pre-built kits. Mxt builds your routine ingredient-by-ingredient from a much larger formulary, so two people with similar concerns but different sensitivities, environments, or goals will get different formulas.
What if my skin changes?
Your routine evolves with you. As seasons change, as your concerns shift, or as your skin responds, you can update your profile and we'll adjust the formulation. That's part of why everything is custom-made on demand.
How long until I see results?
Most actives need at least 28 days to show meaningful change, and some — retinoids especially — need 8 to 12 weeks. Our consumer perception studies are 28-day, third-party-administered tests, and we share those results on the About page.

Orders

How can I check the status of my order?
You can view order status on your Account page, which will be updated as soon as your order is created and again once your order ships.
Can I change, add to, or cancel my order?
Your order cannot be cancelled or changed once we begin custom-making your products. If you wish to cancel or change an order, please email hello@mxt.co as soon as you can within 24 hours of placing the order and we'll figure it out then.
Do I need an account to order from Mxt?
You do not need an account to buy from Mxt, however it's free to set one up and makes the check-out process faster. When you sign up you can check out faster, see order status and history, view and customize past purchases, manage account information, change your password, and save multiple shipping addresses. If you check out as a guest, all order confirmations and updates will be sent via email and will not be accessible on mxt.co.

Payments

Can I use multiple promo codes at checkout?
You can use one promo code per order.
Can I sell the products on my own site?
Your purchase of Mxt products is only for your personal use. By purchasing Mxt products, you agree not to resell or distribute such products for any commercial purposes. We may reject or cancel an order if we have reason to believe that your order is not for your personal use. If you're a professional interested in offering Mxt to clients, see our Pro Program waitlist.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept all major debit and credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover, Diners Club/JCB), and payment wallets including Alipay, Amex Express Checkout, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Microsoft Pay, Masterpass, and Visa Checkout. Apple Pay and Google Pay are also supported on mobile.
Can I remove a saved payment method?
Yes — you can manage saved payment methods on your Account page. For additional assistance, email hello@mxt.co.
What can I do if my payment is declined?
Double-check that your card's billing details (security code and billing address) match what you've entered, and that your card hasn't expired. It's possible your card issuer declined the charge, so contact them before retrying. If you're still having trouble, email hello@mxt.co.
Why am I paying sales tax now when I'm out of state?
As a US-based e-commerce company we are required to charge sales tax, and the rules may change over time.

Shipping & Tracking

Which countries do you ship to?
For now, Mxt is available only in the US.
What are shipping costs?
Please see our shipping table for current rates and timelines.
How can I change my shipping address on a pending order?
If your order is shipping to an incorrect address, email hello@mxt.co as soon as possible — we'll do what we can before it ships.
Will I have to sign for my order?
We can send your package with a signature requirement on request. Email hello@mxt.co with your order number.
Can I track my order?
You'll get a shipment notification email with a tracking number as soon as your package ships. If you have an account, you can also track in the Account section.
I'm having problems with the tracking.
Apologies. In some cases the carrier takes 1–2 business days to register the shipment. If your tracking number isn't updating or working at all, email hello@mxt.co and we'll look into it.

Returns

What is your return and exchange policy?

How do I return an item?
Our return process is described on the Returns page.
I received an incomplete order or a damaged product — how should I proceed?
If there's an issue with an item, email hello@mxt.co as soon as possible. Include as much detail as you can — order number, what was wrong, photos if helpful — and we'll resolve it quickly.
What should I do if I receive the wrong product?
Apologies if that happened. Email hello@mxt.co and we'll get it sorted.
How can I tell when you have received my return?
We'll send a confirmation email as soon as your return has been processed.
How long does it take to process a return?
Credit card refunds usually take 5–10 business days to appear on your statement.
My return has been incorrectly refunded — how should I proceed?
We're sorry if we made a mistake. If you were expecting a refund and didn't get the full amount, it may be because we don't refund delivery, shipping, and handling costs. For any other concerns, email hello@mxt.co.

Product, Ingredients & Usage

What is the shelf life of the product?
Two years from the date you opened it.
How long do the products last?
It depends on how much you use and how often. Most products last 2–3 months when used regularly according to instructions.
What scent is in the products?
Mxt does not use fragrance or essential oils. Many of the actives we use have a characteristic scent of their own — that's part of the experience of the product.
Are the products gluten-free?
Yes — Mxt products are formulated without gluten-containing ingredients.
Is the line vegan?
Our formulary contains no animal-sourced materials. See our Product Standards for details.
Do you test on animals?
No. We don't test on animals or use materials that have been tested on animals.
Are the products cruelty-free?
Yes — none of the formulas, and none of the raw materials, are tested on animals.
Is the packaging recyclable?
Yes — easily recyclable through your local service. All components are BPA-free and phthalate-free, and packaging is mono-material (made from a single plastic) so it can be recycled as a unit without sorting or disassembly. Recycling codes: airless containers (50% PCR) PET, tubes PE. Shipping cartons are made from Forest Certified sustainable paper.
Is the line safe for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding?
To err on the side of caution, we recommend avoiding skincare containing retinol or other forms of Vitamin A, salicylic acid, or AHAs like glycolic acid and lactic acid during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Our formulary contains all of these, so check the ingredient listing and product warnings before purchasing.
Do these products contain preservatives? What kind?
Some formulas — face oils and water-free products — are preservative-free. Others, particularly emulsions (blends of water and oils), require an effective antimicrobial preservation system. The preservatives we use are Hexanediol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Caprylyl Glycol, and Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate. All are plant-derived.
Have the products been tested for safety?
Yes — all products are tested in a third-party laboratory for safety and sensitivity. Products are applied as a patch to the skin of adult human volunteers multiple times over several weeks to confirm no irritation occurs. We also test for shelf-life and the efficacy of the preservative systems. We retain a sample of every batch for testing and evaluation if needed later.
Will my product melt, dry, freeze, or expire?
Yes — Mxt products are formulated for room-temperature storage and last about two years under normal conditions. Brief exposure to heat or cold won't impact efficacy, though it may change the texture (thicker or thinner).

Subscriptions

How do Mxt subscriptions work?
Mxt subscriptions start on a 60-day cycle by default — that's the cadence most products last with regular use. From your Account page you can change the frequency to 30 or 90 days, pause a shipment, or cancel any time. Your card is charged each period for the cost of the products plus regular shipping, handling, and sales tax. No additional subscription fee and no minimum purchase obligation.
When will my card be charged?
Your card is charged when subscription items are custom-mixed and shipped. For payment questions, email hello@mxt.co.
How do I modify or cancel my subscription?
Modify or cancel from your Account page at any time — click Subscriptions. You can also email hello@mxt.co. Changes will be reflected in your next shipment, except for changes initiated while an order is already in process (payment charged but not yet shipped), which will apply after the current order is completed.
Can I change my payment method?
Yes — change your payment method any time in your Account section. Otherwise, the payment method from your first order will be used on subsequent orders.

Email Preferences

How do I unsubscribe from Mxt?
Use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any Mxt email.
How do I change my email address for receiving Mxt emails?
At the bottom of every email there's an option to Manage Preferences — use that to redirect future Mxt emails to a different address.
I signed up to get your emails, but I'm not getting any?
Check your spam or junk folder. If it's not there, mail from Mxt may be blocked — add Mxt@mxt.co to your contacts. Gmail users: check the Promotions tab; if our emails are landing there, drag a message to your main inbox to retrain Gmail.

Gift Cards

Does Mxt offer gift cards?
Yes. See our Gift Card page for purchase options.
Someone sent me a Mxt gift card. How do I redeem it?
Click the Redeem Gift Card link in the email. Create an account or log in and enter the code. If you have trouble, sign up or log in first, then click the link in your email.
How can I pay with a gift card?
Gift cards work like store credit on mxt.co. Once applied to your account, the credit will automatically apply to your next purchase. If you don't have enough store credit to cover the total, you can pay the remaining balance with a credit card or another payment method.
